Mechanical Fitter

Sector: Manufacturing

Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £32,095.18 p/a

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | Days | Flexible Hours (37-hr week)

ISQ Recruitment are delighted to be exclusively supporting a UK packaging machinery manufacturer with their search for a Mechanical Fitter. This is a hands-on role within a modern workshop environment, ideal for a skilled fitter who takes pride in build quality and attention to detail, while looking to develop their career.

Please note this client does not offer visa sponsorship. Only candidates with full Right to Work in the UK and relevant experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble machinery through to testing, commissioning, and pre-delivery checks.
  • Service, rebuild, and support machinery within the workshop.
  • Manufacture and fit mechanical sub-assemblies, chains, labels, and scales.
  • Identify build issues, complete documentation, and maintain build quality.
  • Support the training of new team members and contribute to continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering or similar (essential).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Fitter within a manufacturing or workshop environment (essential).
  • Level 3 Mechanical qualification (desirable).
  • Ability to assemble machinery and mechanical sub-assemblies from engineering drawings.
  • Confident using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical fixings.
  • Ability to identify build issues, fault-find, and maintain high build quality.
  • Understanding of quality standards, documentation, and safe working practices.
