Altrad Integrity Services are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team for an upcoming project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, and certification of mechanical plant and equipment, ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for operational use.
Key Deliverables
- To service, maintain, inspect, and repair mechanical plant and equipment in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and statutory requirements.
- To diagnose mechanical faults and undertake corrective repairs to ensure equipment is safe and ready for operational use.
- To carry out inspections, function testing, and pre-mobilisation checks of company and third-party equipment.
- To assemble, install, refurbish, and replace mechanical components, including worn or damaged parts.
- To work with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- To read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and relevant specifications.
- To ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, HAVS, and company maintenance procedures.
- To complete maintenance documentation, job cards, certification records, LOCs, COCs, PUWER, HAVS, and other relevant records as required.
- To update asset management and maintenance records within company systems.
- To identify and request spare parts required for repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance.
- To carry out routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical failures.
- To test equipment prior to release for operational use and support mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
- To maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, quality, and workmanship within the workshop and yard.

- Time-served Mechanical Fitter or completion of a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
- Experience in plant, machinery, or equipment maintenance.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and specifications.
- Good knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Competent in the use of workshop tools and mechanical measuring equipment.
- PUWER and LOLER awareness.
- Forklift licence desirable.
- ATEX awareness desirable.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
