Mechanical Maintenance Fitter (Days) Walsall area, West Midlands £51,736 Basic | £53,222+ OTE | Days Only | Overtime Available

You'll be joining a busy maintenance team where no two days are the same, with a mix of breakdowns, planned maintenance and improvement work across a large industrial site.
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, you'll be responsible for keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently while helping reduce downtime across site.
Day-to-day you'll be involved with:
- Responding to mechanical breakdowns and fault finding.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and TPM checks.
- Repairing and overhauling machinery and mechanical components.
- Working on hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.
- Supporting machinery installations and engineering improvement projects.
- Working closely with production to keep the plant running.
- Sharing knowledge with apprentices and junior engineers where needed.

What They're Looking For
- A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3).
- Experience in a mechanical maintenance or mechanical fitting position.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics would be ideal.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.

- £51,736 basic salary.
- £53,222 OTE through weekly productivity and maintenance bonuses.

Working Hours
This is a permanent days-only position working an average of 40.25 hours per week on a 4 on / 4 off pattern across an 8-week cycle. It gives you regular long weekends and a great work-life balance without rotating onto nights.
