Role – Mechanical Fitter / Workshop Engineer
Salary – £36,000
Location – Gloucestershire / South West with Occasional Stay Aways
Shift Pattern – Days – Monday to Friday

The Company
A reputable and thriving company that design, manufacture, install and service fluid power systems and components for clients across Aerospace, Automotive and Manufacturing. They have continued to grow and evolve and have expanded to supply to other sectors, therefore seen as a market leader within their industry. Additionally, they have made huge investment in their infrastructure and systems to have the most up to date technology that means that their customer benefit from a more streamlined process. They offer fantastic training opportunities for their Onsite Service Team including yearly budget allocations for development, detailed training and Health & Safety Training.
With over 50 years in operation, maintaining their high standards of production and continuously investing in along with significant growth and a healthy growing order book and turnover, they are looking to add to their team and therefore have an opportunity for Mechanical Fitter / Workshop Engineer who is looking to make an instant impact on a site and contribute to the growth of the business through hard work, commitment and dedication.

The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the repair, overhaul and refurbishment of hydraulic power units, hydraulic components and pneumatic components in the workshop.
Other responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Stripping down of hydraulic power units and components
- Components include cylinders, pumps, motors
- Specifying what's wrong with the components and providing written reports
- Re-building and assembling hydraulic power units to go to customer
- Pressure testing components
- Basic fabrications – welding of parts and machining
- Inspection of components
- Using engineering drawings to follow assembly instructions

The Candidate
The ideal Mechanical Fitter will have:
- Mechanical Engineering Qualification, ideally Level 3
- Hands-on experience working on mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Mechanical stripping and re-building of equipment
- Pipefitting, pipe bending and basic electric awareness
- Fabrication, Fitting and Machining experience
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently
- Flexible and able to work away occasionally
- A willingness to learn and develop through ongoing training
The business is happy to consider experienced engineers, maintenance engineers with strong hydraulic systems or Fluidpower exposure.
