£40,000 - £45,000 (OTE £50,000+) + Company Benefits + Progression + Overtime + In-House Training + Company Bonus

This international engineering business specialises in the repair, overhaul and servicing of propulsion, transmission and drivetrain systems for commercial marine and industrial applications. Supporting customers across the shipping, offshore, defence and heavy engineering sectors, the company has built a reputation for technical excellence, high-quality workmanship and long-term staff development.
In this workshop-based role, you will strip, inspect, repair and rebuild transmission systems, carrying out mechanical fitting, assembly and fault-finding on both customer repairs and new build equipment. You'll work alongside a skilled engineering team with opportunities to progress into field-based engineering roles as your experience develops.

This role would suit a Mechanical Fitter from a marine, plant, agricultural or heavy mechanical background with experience working on transmissions or gearboxes, looking for long-term progression, specialist training and excellent earning potential through overtime and bonuses.
The Role:
- Repairing, overhauling and maintaining transmission and driveline systems
- Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding gearboxes, torque converters, axles and mechanical components
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs to a high standard
- Working on customer repairs, refurbishments and new build projects
- Supporting assembly, fitting and testing within the workshop
- Monday to Friday, workshop-based with occasional travel when required
The Person:
- Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter, Agricultural Engineer, Marine Engineer or similar
- Experience working on transmissions, gearboxes, driveline or propulsion systems
- Commutable to Sittingbourne
