Mechanical Fitter – Gas Turbines
Location: Dyce, Aberdeen
Employment Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: 9-Day Fortnight
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Opportunity
We are looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters / Gas Turbine Technicians to join an established engineering organisation in Aberdeen.
Following significant new contract awards and investment in a new gas turbine product line and newly equipped facility, the business is expanding its specialist overhaul capability and is looking for experienced personnel to join the team.
We are keen to hear from candidates with hands-on gas turbine experience, particularly within an overhaul, repair or MRO environment.
Previous LM2500 or CF6 experience would be particularly attractive but is not essential. Candidates with relevant experience across other gas turbine engine types and OEMs are strongly encouraged to apply.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:
- Receipt of engines and modules into the workshop.
- Strip and disassembly of gas turbine engines and modules.
- Assembly and build of engines/modules as required.
- Carrying out mechanical fitting, repair and overhaul activities.
- Working in accordance with relevant technical procedures, documentation and overhaul manuals.
- Balancing rotating components where required.
- Ensuring correct standards of component and material handling.
- Accurately completing relevant technical and operational documentation.
- Working closely with Inspection throughout the overhaul process.
- Planning and organising allocated work to meet agreed turnaround times.
- Highlighting technical issues or potential delays to the Workshop Supervisor.
- Maintaining excellent standards of quality, safety and housekeeping.
- Supporting continuous improvement, Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Providing technical support and knowledge sharing where appropriate.

What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have:
- Several years' experience within a gas turbine environment.
- Hands-on experience of engine/module strip, build, assembly, disassembly, repair, maintenance or overhaul.
- A recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship, National Certificate or equivalent technical qualification.
- Strong mechanical fitting skills.
- Experience working from technical instructions, engineering documentation and overhaul manuals.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills.
- A strong commitment to quality and safe working practices.
We are equally interested in candidates with relevant transferable experience across other industrial, aero-derivative or aero gas turbine platforms.
