SPIRAC Ltd - UK field based with regular overnight stays
SPIRAC is looking for two experienced mechanical fitters to install and refurbish wastewater treatment equipment at sites across the UK. We need people who can take on practical installation work, from a small conveyor through to a large, connected system of equipment.
These roles involve extensive travel and a significant number of nights away in hotels each month. Applicants must be comfortable working away from home regularly; returning home every evening will not always be possible depending on project locations.
The work
Our fitters install, refurbish and service mechanical equipment at operational wastewater sites and on construction projects. Depending on the job, this means interpreting drawings, setting out and fitting equipment, working with lifting teams and other trades, resolving practical site issues, and reporting progress to the Project Engineer.

We’re looking for people with substantial hands-on mechanical fitting and site installation experience. Successful applicants will be confident using tools and lifting equipment safely, working to method statements, and taking responsibility for the quality of their work. Wastewater industry experience is particularly welcome. Good welding skills would be an added advantage.
A full driving licence and a strong approach to site safety are essential.

The following are relevant to the work: CSCS Labourer; First Aid; City & Guilds Medium Risk Confined Space; A40A Slinger/Signaller; IPAF; PASMA; Thames Water Passport; Safety Critical Medical; Manual Handling; Abrasive Wheels; CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor; SSSTS; CPCS A17C Telescopic Handler; CPCS A17E Telescopic Handler with Suspended Load; and CPCS A77 360 Slew Telescopic Handler.
