Job Details
- Contract: Full Time, Permanent
- Location: RAF Lakenheath
- Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday), on-call 1 in 6/7 with weekend work
- Salary: £42,000–£44,000 (dependent on experience)
The Role
Are you a skilled Mechanical Heating Engineer looking for a role that makes a real impact? Do you thrive in dynamic environments where no two days are the same?
As the Mechanical Heating Engineer at VIVO, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and repairing oil and LPG/gas boiler heating systems across RAF Lakenheath, Mildenhall, and Feltwell.
- Assignments delivered via tablet-based scheduling, where you will plan and self-manage tasks.
- Ensuring assets are compliant, energy-efficient, and operational within design parameters.
- Performing planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to meet strict service level agreements.
- Supervising contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring health and safety compliance.
- Supporting business continuity and maintaining plant rooms and technical spaces in a safe, tidy, and operational state.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues and customers to deliver a first-class service.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- A recognised technical qualification (HNC, ONC, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering).
- Experience with commercial heating systems, including oil-fired boilers, gas systems.
- Gas Safe registration.
- Ability to read schematics and accurately record work digitally.
- A team-focused approach, strong communication skills, and a proactive work ethic.
Desirable:
- Experience and qualification in LPG gas systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, Building Management Systems, and safe electrical isolation.
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain DBS clearance and SC security clearance.
