Are you an experienced Mechanical Inspector looking to join a market-leading precision engineering company where you can work with advanced inspection equipment while contributing to the manufacture of world-class products?

Brilliant opportunity on offer to join a globally recognised manufacturer that can offer long-term stability, excellent training and development, and the chance to work within a technically advanced manufacturing environment.

This company specialise in the design and manufacture of precision optical and engineering products, supplying leading organisations across a wide range of industries worldwide. Due to continued growth they are now looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join their Quality team.

In this role you will be responsible for carrying out inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, including incoming goods, in-process, first-off, first article and final inspections. Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams, you will ensure components meet the highest quality standards whilst supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The Role

  • Carrying out incoming, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components and assemblies
  • Operating and programming CMM equipment alongside conventional inspection equipment
  • Producing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), inspection documentation and quality records
  • Supporting supplier quality activities, non-conformance investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to maintain the highest quality standards

The Person

  • Experience within Mechanical Inspection in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
  • Experience using CMM equipment, including programming and operation
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience producing FAIRs and using a range of conventional inspection equipment
  • Looking for long-term development and career progression within a growing engineering business
