Mechanical Installation Support Engineer
Location – UK Based (Depot and Site-Based with National Travel)
At DTGen, we're part of the DCC Energy GB family and we're proud to deliver specialist standby power and power generation solutions that support critical infrastructure across the UK. As our projects portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for a Mechanical Installation Support Engineer to join our Projects team and help deliver complex generator installation projects across a wide range of sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanical professional who enjoys working on technically challenging projects. You'll play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, installation and commissioning of generator systems and associated mechanical infrastructure, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Working closely with Project Managers, Installation Engineers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors and customers, you'll be involved in every stage of project delivery, from site surveys and lift planning through to commissioning support and final handover. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical power projects supporting sectors such as data centres, healthcare, utilities and industrial facilities.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing technical support for the installation of diesel and gas-powered generator systems.
- Supporting project reviews, site surveys and installation planning activities.
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of generator lift and shift operations, including liaison with lifting contractors and transport providers.
- Supporting the installation and integration of fuel tanks, fuel storage systems, transfer systems and monitoring equipment.
- Assisting with fuel pipework installation, testing, inspection and commissioning activities.
- Supporting the installation of generator exhaust systems, attenuation equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Assisting with structural steelwork, support systems, equipment frames and installation bracketry.
- Conducting site surveys, technical assessments and installation reviews.
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and installation activities to support successful project delivery.
- Supporting commissioning activities, FATs, SATs and project handovers.
- Promoting the highest standards of health, safety, quality and compliance across all projects.

What we're looking for:
- Experience within generator installation, power generation, M&E, industrial plant or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical generator installation projects, including fuel systems, mechanical pipework, exhaust systems, structural supports and generator installation methodologies.
- Experience coordinating lift and shift operations.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of mechanical installation best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel nationally and work on customer sites.
