Role Description
This full-time, on-site Mechanical Lead Technician role is based in Inverurie. The Mechanical Lead Technician will oversee mechanical maintenance and repair activities on equipment used in land, marine, and offshore applications, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical issues, planning and executing maintenance schedules, performing inspections, and coordinating with technicians to complete work to required standards. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, providing input on mechanical design improvements, maintaining accurate service records, and supporting quality and safety compliance. The Mechanical Lead Technician will collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer teams to deliver reliable equipment performance and timely service.

- Candidates should possess strong Maintenance skills, including preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering knowledge, with the ability to understand mechanical systems, materials, and design principles.
- Candidates should possess Inspection skills for assessing equipment condition, verifying compliance with specifications, and documenting findings.
- Candidates should possess Automotive-related mechanical skills that are transferable to industrial and marine equipment service and repair.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or a related field is beneficial.
- Experience leading or mentoring technicians and coordinating workshop or field activities is advantageous.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and clear communication, with the ability to work hands-on in an on-site industrial environment.
