Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Sheffield | Monday-Friday | 8:00am-4:30pm | Days Only

Are you a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking to leave shift work behind and join a business where your expertise is genuinely valued?

We're recruiting for a time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established industrial manufacturer in Sheffield. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you'll become part of a close-knit engineering team responsible for keeping a wide range of heavy plant and production equipment operating at its best.

If you enjoy fault finding, fabrication, and getting stuck into varied mechanical challenges, this could be the ideal opportunity.

What you'll be doing

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and returning equipment to service quickly and safely.
  • Fabricating and repairing components using MIG, TIG and Arc welding.
  • Working on a variety of heavy industrial machinery.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Working closely with production and engineering colleagues to keep operations running efficiently.

What we're looking for

  • ✔ Time-served Mechanical Engineer
  • ✔ Experience within manufacturing, heavy industry or recycling
  • ✔ FLT licence
  • ✔ MEWP licence
  • ✔ MIG, TIG & Arc welding experience
  • ✔ Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
