MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER BLACKBURN
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Maintenance Technician seeking a job opportunity and are you Level 3 qualified (or above) in an Engineering Discipline?
We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business in Blackburn, the working hours are 8.00am : 4.30pm Monday to Friday (paid 40 hour week), and the role comes with an annual salary of £40,000 p/a.
Job Outline
This is a hands-on role on the tools, and you will be responsible for maintaining gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and motors, as well as carrying out hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, some basic welding and fabrication work will be required (as or when).
Some administrative work will be required so you MUST be able to use Microsoft Office packages, primarily Word and Excel.
What You Will Do
- Ensure equipment is operated and maintained in a safe and reliable condition.
- Conduct effective risk assessments to promote safety for yourself and your team.
- Repair and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
- Analyse data to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
- Manage projects within agreed budgets and time lines, ensuring quality results.

What You Will Bring
- You will have either completed an Engineering apprenticeship (or be qualified to an NVQ Level 3 minimum): ESSENTIAL
- Expertise in maintaining gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and motors: ESSENTIAL
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic repairs: ESSENTIAL
- Experience with Microsoft Office Packages: particularly Word and Excel
- Knowledge/experience of non-woven manufacturing and technology (or related field): Preferred
Current or recent experience in similar roles, maintenance technician, mechanical fitter, shift engineer, multi-skilled maintenance engineer, service engineer
