About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to undertake planned and reactive maintenance across the contract.

You will maintain, inspect, and repair a range of mechanical building-services systems, helping to ensure the premises remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. Working closely with the Site Supervisor, you will complete all tasks safely, efficiently, and within the required service-level agreements.

The position also requires participation in an on-call rota, responding to urgent out-of-hours faults and emergencies when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive mechanical repairs within agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical building-services equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, pipework, heating systems, and ventilation plant.
  • Inspect equipment, diagnose faults, and complete repairs or component replacements.
  • Carry out plumbing repairs and general mechanical maintenance.
  • Support the maintenance of air-handling units, fan-coil units, and associated HVAC equipment.
  • Monitor plant performance and identify defects, deterioration, or potential failures.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and respond to urgent out-of-hours maintenance issues.
  • Attend emergency call-outs within the required response times.
  • Diagnose faults and make systems safe or complete repairs during call-outs where possible.
  • Escalate significant faults and arrange additional specialist support when required.
  • Assist specialist contractors with servicing, repairs, and statutory inspections.
  • Support the Site Supervisor with the effective delivery of contracted maintenance services.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
  • Complete maintenance records, job sheets, and compliance documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Prepare and follow risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Identify additional defects or risks and report them through the appropriate channels.
  • Maintain a professional approach when dealing with customers, colleagues, and contractors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
