MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Location: Menston Salary: £43,000 Shift: Days

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in Menston. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical maintenance professional to join a stable site and play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of production equipment.

Job Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a busy manufacturing environment. You will be working on a range of mechanical production machinery and site equipment, diagnosing faults and ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard.

The role will involve mechanical fault finding, planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or automated environment.
  • Experience with mechanical fault finding and maintenance of industrial machinery.
  • Comfortable working a days-based shift pattern.
  • Able to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns.

Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working with bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Desirable Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:

  • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
  • Additional electrical maintenance experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience working within an automated manufacturing environment.
