📍 Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

💷 £50,900 – £56,900 (including shift allowances, DOE) 🎁 + £2,500 Welcome Bonus 🍀 Performance Bonus & Exceptional Benefits

🕗 Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (7 am–7 pm), alternating between 2 days, 2 nights, with 4 days off

  • Reduce downtime through fast-resolution problem-solving and technical excellence.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and leadership to improve reliability, waste reduction, safety, and quality.
  • Implement predictive maintenance strategies to optimize equipment lifespan and minimize disruptions.

🔧 Responsibilities

  • Fault-finding & breakdown resolution across diverse mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules, ensuring smooth transition between production and maintenance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and prepare safe-work method statements.
  • Procure spare parts and services for equipment repairs.
  • Level one problem-solving (e.g., component failure analysis) and root cause diagnosis.
  • Document all breakdowns/known jobs in Atlas for record-keeping.

🔍 Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum qualification: Higher National Certificate or Diploma in Engineering with practical experience.
  • Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) background with hands-on maintenance expertise.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis of technical failures.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel, PI ProcessBook, and SAP Planned Maintenance.
    • Risk assessment and change control protocols.
  • Experience leading sustainable fault-finding and maintenance investigations to improve reliability.
