Job Description
My client was founded in 1976 and is a leading producer of flux and metal-cored welding consumables and machines for hardfacing and maintenance applications. As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you are responsible for the reliability and safety of the entire manufacturing site, ensuring that a diverse range of machinery, from vintage 1950s equipment to modern automated lines, remains operational and efficient. Additionally, the successful candidate will also play a key role in the mechanical build of bespoke welding machines and site-wide improvement projects.
What we would like from the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
- Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Level 3 NVQ/City and Guilds qualification
- Strong, hands-on mechanical background with proven experience in maintaining manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders)
- Experience with thermal equipment (furnaces) or complex production lines is highly desirable
- Familiarity with control cabinets or electronics is a distinct advantage
- British Passport

What we offer the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
- Salary between up to £40,000
- 25 days of annual leave
- Annual Bonus
- 5% pension contribution
- 39 hours per week (7.30 am till 4 pm Mon-Thurs and 7.30 am till 3 pm Fri)
