Mechanical Maintenance Engineer required for a leading food manufacturing business in Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer from a manufacturing, FMCG, food production or packaging background to join a stable business offering a £51,000 salary, overtime and genuine career progression.

Shift Pattern
- Rotating 12-hour days and nights
- Continental shift pattern
- Average 42 hours per week
The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a busy food manufacturing facility, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimising downtime.

Duties include:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive breakdown repairs
- Mechanical fault finding
- Continuous improvement activities
- Equipment installation and upgrades
- Supporting production efficiency and site reliability
Machinery & Equipment
Working on a variety of manufacturing and packaging machinery including:
- Conveyors
- Production machinery
- Packaging machinery
- Proseal equipment
- Multivac systems
- Vacuum packers and sealers
- Metal detectors
- Labelling equipment
- Bearings, motors, chains and sprockets
- General food production machinery
Requirements
- Mechanical Maintenance Engineer experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food production or packaging environments
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience maintaining production machinery
- Knowledge of conveyors, bearings, motors, gearboxes, chains and mechanical systems
- Positive attitude and team-focused approach
