Job Description

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer x3 | West Midlands | £35,000 + Overtime

  • Day Shift | Afternoon Shift | Night Shift Available
  • 40 Hours Per Week
  • Overtime: £20/hour | Sundays: £33.65/hour

The Opportunity

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established heavy engineering manufacturer supplying ductile iron and steel castings into the turbocharger, manifold and wider engineering sectors.

Due to continued growth and significant investment, the business is looking to recruit three Mechanical Maintenance Engineers across day, afternoon and night shifts.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing manufacturer with a substantial forward order book, ongoing investment in new equipment and a strong commitment to developing its engineering capability.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving plant reliability across two manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities
  • Diagnose and repair faults on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
  • Maintain gearboxes, bearings, cylinders, valves, pumps and rotating equipment
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding and general fabrication work
  • Support TPM and continuous improvement activities
  • Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and improve plant performance
  • Contribute to safety, reliability and operational improvements

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
