Elevation have the pleasure of working with a key heavy manufacturing client based in the Sheffield area. This leading manufacturing company, are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their well established team!
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (negotiable dependent on experience)
Location: Sheffield
Shifts:
- Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 6:00am - 2:00pm - Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm (DAYS)
- Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 2:00pm - 10:00pm - Friday 12:00pm to 6:00pm (AFTERS)

Duties of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
- Attending to PPM's and breakdowns on a daily basis as this is a hands on role
- Ensuring safe systems of work are followed at all times, including permit-to-work and isolation procedures.
- Acting as technical lead during major breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) on repeat failures and implementing corrective actions.
- Supporting development of maintenance apprentices and junior engineers.
- Ensuring maintenance documentation, asset history, and CMMS systems are kept up to date.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE, reliability, and maintenance cost control.

Desired experience of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer:
- You must have at least Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering (City and Guilds – Apprentice trained)
- It would be advantageous for you to have HNC and HND qualifications but not essential
- Ideally have 3 years+ experience within in a mechanical maintenance position outside of apprenticeship
- Must have worked within a heavy manufacturing maintenance background previously
- Ideally have experience of working within Forging environment previously
- Must have the good work ethic, someone who can work independently and within a team environment as well as natural leadership qualities
