£60,700 basic | £62,000+ OTE + overtime
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Fitter to join a well-established heavy industrial manufacturing site offering strong earnings, stability, and long-term progression.
This is a nights-based role with a structured shift pattern, excellent earning potential, and the opportunity to work within a skilled engineering team focused on reliability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Fault finding and root cause analysis on plant and equipment
- Planned maintenance and TPM activities
- Workshop repair, overhaul, and refurbishment work
- Support installation and improvement projects
- Work closely with shift engineering teams

Environment
- Heavy industrial machinery and production plant
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and mechanical drives
- Workshop and site-based maintenance work
Requirements
- Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship / City & Guilds)
- Experience in mechanical maintenance or fitting
- Strong fault-finding and repair ability
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Welding/fabrication skills desirable

Shift Pattern
- 4 on / 4 off (nights)
- 40.25 hours per week
- 8-week cycle
Package
- £60,700 basic salary
- £62,000+ realistic earnings including bonuses
- Overtime available
- 23 days holiday (including bank holidays)
