Overview
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the successful candidate will work as part of a small team responsible for ensuring the equipment is maintained to a high standard with an emphasis on the safe operating condition.
Equipment reliability is key and therefore one of the main responsibilities will be working to the planned preventative maintenance program. This will involve working with the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate / close out work orders and search for spares listed against assets. There will also be a need to ensure any reactive maintenance activities (breakdowns) are effectively dealt with in a timely manner. It is essential for the successful candidate to have a good skill level for fitting, welding, and fabrication activities.
The plant operates on a 24-hour basis and therefore the successful candidate may be required to provide out-of-hours mechanical breakdown cover as required by the business.
You must be able to demonstrate experience and a good track record for safety, health, and environmental awareness. You will be required to challenge others to work safely and develop a thorough knowledge of site-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
