Reporting to – Head of Mechanical Maintenance

Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm

Probation Period: 6 months

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Job Location: Multiple Sites (Mainly London based) & Head Office

Start Date: Immediate

East West Connect is looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Manager to lead the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of water-related services across a range of sites.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge and leadership experience in water hygiene, L8 compliance, plumbing, drainage and pump systems. You will play a key role in maintaining service quality, supporting operational performance and ensuring all works are delivered to the highest safety and compliance standards.

Scope

You will provide leadership and technical oversight for the Water Services department, ensuring statutory compliance and high-quality delivery across reactive, planned preventative and small works. The role covers water hygiene, plumbing, drainage, pumps and associated compliance activities in commercial and domestic environments.

Skills

We are looking for someone with:

  • HNC/HND in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, NVQ Level 5 or above
  • Strong working knowledge of ACOP L8, HSG274, BS 8580 and water hygiene compliance
  • Experience managing water services in occupied commercial or domestic buildings
  • Knowledge of pumps, plumbing systems, drainage and closed-loop water systems
  • Strong leadership, reporting and client communication skills
  • Experience managing subcontractors, compliance records and quality standards
  • Experience using CAFM/CMMS systems desirable
  • Knowledge of SFG20 maintenance schedules desirable
  • Commercial health and safety awareness desirable
  • Full clean driving licence essential

Duties

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading a team of Plumbers, Water Hygiene Technicians, Pump Engineers and Drainage Engineers
  • Acting as the senior technical lead for water hygiene, plumbing, drainage, pumps and water treatment
  • Ensuring full compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, BS 8580-1 and Water Supply Regulations
  • Overseeing audits, monitoring records, sampling data, logbooks and remedial actions
  • Managing maintenance and remedial works across hot and cold water systems, drainage networks, booster sets, pressurisation units, TMVs, calorifiers, tanks and expansion vessels
  • Supporting investigations into incidents, non-conformances and recurring technical issues
  • Maintaining accurate asset and compliance records using CAFM/CMMS systems
  • Preparing quotations, reports and client-facing technical documentation
  • Promoting high standards of health and safety, quality and continuous improvement
