Location and hours:
Onsite, Splott Industrial Estate, Cardiff, CF24 5TH Wales.
Minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute paid lunchbreak.

Joining our Sections Mill Team as a Mechanical Maintenance Manager, we will support you to achieve this. Your days will be exciting and varied, as your time will be spent between the offices, and down on the plant; so no two days will look the same.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, inspiring and managing the Mechanical Engineering and Craft teams
- Managing mechanical maintenance projects, including their scope, resource allocation, and safety requirements
- Prioritising health and safety policies in all areas of your work, and leading by example
Requirements:
More than anything we are looking for people with experience of leading Mechanical Engineering teams, and be able to influence, inspire and develop your employees, as well as communicate effectively with the wider organisation.
As well as your advanced technical skills, you will also bring passion, purpose, adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset to 7 Steel UK. We are interested in candidates who have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Appropriate industrial mechanical experience
You’ll also ideally bring:
- Significant industrial mechanical maintenance experience, with experience in a Steel Plant
- Strong experience in leading teams and management positions
- High commitment to Health & Safety
- Strong experience with: Industrial gearboxes, Spindles and couplings, Bearings and rotating equipment, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Lubrication systems, Pumps and piping, Mechanical troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive and reliability-centred maintenance.
- Good practical knowledge of vibration analysis and oil analysis.
- Experience managing major shutdowns and maintenance projects.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors and spare parts.
- Experience with CMMS/SAP maintenance systems is mandatory.
- Experience with equipment upgrades, commissioning and continuous-improvement projects is advantageous.
