Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Kirkcaldy
Permanent role - Salary of £45.4k (inclusive of shift allowance)
2020 Recruitment are delighted to be working with our new Kirkcaldy based client who are looking to add a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to their team. This is a permanent position within the maintenance team working a 38-hour week within a three-shift pattern over a five-day week (Mon – Fri). This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a business that supports their growth with in-house training and offers a great work/life balance with no weekend work.
The Role
As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will support the Production departments in achieving their budgeted production plan throughout the year. Technicians also ensure that some of the statutory requirements associated with a modern production unit are met in line with the company's Health & Safety & Environmental policies.

Duties & Responsibilities
As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Use knowledge and experience of sound engineering practices within a modern production environment to offer front-line maintenance support to all production departments daily.
- Carry out PPM activities across the site as required.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks on Site Services (Compressed Air Systems, HPHW Systems, Package Boilers, Cooling Towers, and Refrigeration Plant).
- Fault find & rectify mechanical & basic electrical faults in a modern production environment to include conveying systems, couplings, bearings, motors, and gearboxes.
- Be involved in process improvement projects designed to reduce downtime & improve departmental efficiencies.
- Onsite familiarization & training program which will be implemented over the first six months of their employment.
Requirements
To be considered for the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will need the following:

- Previous experience within a similar role
- HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering field
- Time served apprenticeship
- Mechanical bias
- Right to work in the UK
- Live within a commutable distance of Kirkcaldy
Tools
Technicians will be expected to have their own basic tool set. Specific & larger tools are provided by the Company. The Company also operates a tool scheme where Technicians can buy tools VAT free and pay the company at an agreed rate.
Package
As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be offered:
- Salary of £45.4k (inclusive of shift allowance)
