Cape (Electrical & Mechanical) Ltd is a leading Site Temporary Electrics and Building Services contractor operating across London and the South of England. The team works closely with clients to provide practical, solutions-focused support on complex sites. Role Description

This full-time, on-site Mechanical Manager role is based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Mechanical Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of temporary mechanical services on site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to required quality standards.

  • Managing mechanical installation teams
  • Allocating resources
  • Monitoring progress against project plans

The role involves liaising with project managers and electrical teams, to integrate mechanical work within the temporary services schemes. The Mechanical Manager reviews designs, resolves technical issues, supports compliance with regulations and company procedures, and provides clear guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.

Qualifications

  • Strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge, including practical experience with building services and construction environments.
  • Skills in Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) coordination and Plumbing systems relevant to site-based projects.
  • Proven Team Management abilities, including leading site operatives, delegating tasks, and supporting a safety-focused culture.
  • Project Management skills, such as planning work packages, managing timelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant engineering or technical qualifications are highly beneficial.
  • Experience in the UK construction or building services sector, with knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, and health and safety requirements, is desirable.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced site environment, are preferred.
