CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Technician to join the team located in Brighton.
About The Role
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Technician with a strong mechanical bias to support the maintenance and operation of a large, modern office environment.
This role focuses primarily on mechanical building services, including HVAC and associated plant, while also requiring a basic understanding of electrical systems. You will play a key role in ensuring comfort, safety, and reliability for building occupants through high-quality maintenance and fault resolution.
Please Note: This is a Monday-Friday role 12:00-21:00 (On Call: 1 week in 6).
Location: Brighton with travel to Burgess Hill
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on building services plant
- Maintain and fault-find on mechanical systems including: HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, VAVs)
- Pumps, motors, and pressurisation units
- Heating and hot water systems
- Chillers and cooling systems
- Monitor and optimise system performance to support energy efficiency and occupant comfort
- Assist with installation and modification of building systems and equipment
- Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and O&M manuals
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety standards, and building codes
- Respond to building user issues (e.g. temperature complaints) and resolve effectively
- Accurately complete work orders and log activities via CAFM / CMMS systems
- Support contractors and specialist engineers during planned works and shutdowns
- Work collaboratively with electrical and fabric teams when required

Essential
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / equivalent in: Mechanical Engineering
- Building Services Engineering
- HVAC / Maintenance Engineering OR a completed mechanical or building services apprenticeship
- Proven experience maintaining mechanical building services in a commercial environment
- Strong fault-finding skills on HVAC and associated plant
- Good understanding of PPM routines and compliance requirements
Desirable
- Basic electrical knowledge (motors, controls, BMS interaction)
- Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- F-Gas qualification (for AC/refrigeration work)
- IOSH / Health & Safety certification
- Experience in high-end or corporate office environments
Skills & Attributes
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Customer-focused mindset (experience in occupied buildings is key)
- Ability to prioritise and respond to reactive issues quickly
- Good communication skills when dealing with occupants and stakeholders
- Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented

Additional Requirements
- Ability to carry out physical maintenance tasks (lifting, climbing, access equipment)
- Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours or emergency work
- Driver’s license (use of company van for on-call duties, 1 week in 6)
