Pure Renewables is a leading specialist Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor delivering commercial and industrial renewable heating solutions throughout the UK and Ireland.

We design, supply, install and commission large-scale heat pump systems that help organisations reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency and accelerate their journey towards Net Zero. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical & Piping Designer to join our expanding engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging decarbonisation projects using the latest renewable heating technologies.

The Role

The Mechanical & Piping Designer will play a key role within our Engineering & Design team, producing high-quality mechanical and piping designs for commercial heat pump installations. Working closely with Mechanical Design Engineers, Project Managers, Commissioning Engineers and the Operations team, you will develop coordinated design packages from concept through to construction, ensuring installations are safe, practical, cost-effective and fully compliant.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in mechanical building services or industrial piping design and be comfortable producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings for fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design

  • Produce detailed mechanical and piping drawings for commercial heat pump installations.
  • Design plantroom layouts.
  • Produce equipment layouts.
  • Develop pipe routing designs.
  • Produce fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Create pipe spool drawings where required.
  • Develop support arrangements for pipework.
  • Produce valve schedules and equipment schedules.
  • Generate isometric drawings.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
