Mechanical Project Engineer | Walsall, West Midlands | £32,000 – £36,000

Join Parsons, a specialist designer, manufacturer, installer, and maintainer of fume & odour scrubbing equipment, working across a wide range of industries to deliver air pollution control solutions that genuinely matter to our customers' operations.

We're growing our engineering team and looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer who is just as comfortable on site as at a desk; someone who will get hands-on with the design, development, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems across the Parsons Group. You'll work closely with our Engineering Manager, gaining technical experience across every phase of a project, from initial design calculations through to equipment on site.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Getting out on site across the UK — supporting installation, testing, and commissioning, and seeing your own designs through to completion on the ground
  • Testing, evaluating, and getting hands-on with equipment to ensure it is safe, reliable, and efficient

What we're looking for

  • BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering
  • A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

Experience in any of the following would also be well regarded: vessel design (PD5500), ventilation, ductwork or pipework systems, process instrumentation, CDM Regulations, or structural steel design. We are equally interested in engineers looking to develop this expertise with us.

This is a regional role based out of our Walsall office, with regular UK site visits as an integral part of the job, not an occasional add-on (company vehicle provided where possible).

We would welcome your application.
