Mechanical Project Engineer / Product Development Engineer

Location: Lancashire

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week with flexible start and finish times

An established engineering manufacturer is looking to appoint a Mechanical Project Engineer / Product Development Engineer to join their growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys a mix of new product development, design improvement, project delivery and customer-focused engineering solutions. Working within a specialist manufacturing environment, you'll be involved in taking products from concept through to production while supporting ongoing engineering and development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support product development and engineering projects.
  • Design and develop bespoke mechanical equipment and engineered products.
  • Produce and modify 3D CAD models, drawings and technical documentation.
  • Manage projects from concept through manufacture and installation.
  • Liaise with production, suppliers and customers throughout the project life cycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities across existing product ranges.
  • Support testing, prototyping and engineering validation activities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree or HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, fabrication, sheet metal, materials handling, conveyor systems, special purpose machinery or capital equipment environment.
  • Strong mechanical design and project engineering experience.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Practical engineering mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
