Mechanical Project Manager – London

£75,000 – £90,000 + Package | Major MEP Projects

Location: London
Salary: £75,000 – £90,000 + package

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join an established MEP contractor delivering major building services projects across London.

This is an opportunity for a Project Manager who is confident taking ownership of a project from the early stages through to completion, leading teams, managing clients and ensuring the mechanical installation is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

The ideal candidate will combine strong mechanical project delivery experience with a solid commercial understanding.

Your Role

  • Leading projects from mobilisation through to completion
  • Managing project teams, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors
  • Planning labour, materials and resources
  • Managing project programmes and key milestones
  • Coordinating mechanical works alongside electrical and other trades
  • Managing procurement and specialist subcontractors
  • Working closely with design and engineering teams
  • Managing client relationships and project meetings
  • Monitoring project progress and resolving issues
  • Ensuring installations meet programme, specification and quality requirements
  • Managing commissioning, testing and project handover
  • Providing regular updates to senior management

Commercial Responsibility

A key part of this role will be understanding and managing the commercial performance of your projects.

You'll be expected to work closely with the commercial team and have a good understanding of:

  • Variations and additional works
  • Subcontractor costs
  • Procurement
  • Change management
  • Forecasting
  • Project margins
  • Commercial risk
  • Applications and valuations
  • Contractual obligations
  • Final account

What We're Looking For

  • Strong mechanical building services experience
  • A proven background managing MEP projects
  • Experience working for an MEP, mechanical or building services contractor
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
  • Strong programme and project management skills
  • Experience delivering projects from start to finish
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Experience dealing with variations and change
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills
