Mechanical Project Manager

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join an established building services business based in Dartford.

This is a hands-on role with full responsibility for taking mechanical and M&E projects from initial enquiry and site survey through estimating, procurement, and delivery to final handover and O&Ms. Projects typically range from £30,000 to £500,000 and are delivered predominantly within existing client premises.

This position requires someone who combines strong mechanical technical knowledge with genuine commercial ability. You must be comfortable pricing works yourself, including pipework, materials, and labor, rather than simply passing packages to subcontractors or relying on a QS.

Responsibilities

  • Take projects from initial enquiry through site survey, estimating, delivery, and completion.
  • Prepare detailed estimates and quotations, including pipework, materials, equipment, and labor.
  • Deliver boiler room and plantroom replacements and refurbishments.
  • Manage chiller, VRV/VRF, and AHU replacement/refurbishment projects.
  • Provide technically competent mechanical solutions and select appropriate plant and equipment.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Manage directly employed fitters and engineers throughout project delivery.
  • Take commercial ownership of projects from the original estimate through to completion.
  • Monitor costs, margins, and variations monthly and provide financial reporting and forecasting to management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on program, and within budget.
  • Manage commissioning, snagging, O&Ms, and final project handover.
  • Develop strong client relationships and successfully deliver repeat projects.
  • Identify additional works and commercial opportunities with existing clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
