Our client is an established mechanical & electrical engineering contractor specialising in high-quality m&e solutions across the retail sector. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their Sheffield-based team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in retail or commercial building services to take responsibility for projects from initial planning and design through to installation and completion.
The Role
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing mechanical projects from inception through to completion.
- Developing project programmes, schedules and budgets.
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Carrying out site visits and monitoring project progress.
- Identifying and resolving technical and operational issues.
- Managing procurement of materials and resources.
- Ensuring projects comply with relevant mechanical regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Providing technical support and guidance to site teams.
- Monitoring project costs and providing financial updates.
- Producing project reports and relevant documentation.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Supporting repeat business and identifying opportunities for future projects.

About You
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing mechanical projects, ideally within the retail sector or a similar building services environment.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation and relevant regulations.
- Experience managing projects from design through to completion.
- Strong commercial and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Relevant mechanical qualifications such as HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence.
