Mechanical Project Manager | Europe
We are supporting a growing data centre organisation in the recruitment of an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to support the delivery of major mission-critical construction projects across Europe.
This is a key project delivery role with responsibility for managing the mechanical construction scope, including the installation, testing and commissioning of critical systems. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, consultants, vendors and commissioning teams to ensure mechanical packages are delivered safely, on programme and in line with technical and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Oversee HVAC, cooling infrastructure, fire suppression and fuel systems.
- Review mechanical drawings and specifications for constructability and compliance.
- Coordinate equipment procurement, delivery and installation against project milestones.
- Monitor site progress, programme, costs and contractor performance.
- Identify and resolve technical or construction issues affecting delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure works meet design and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
- Support factory witness testing and on-site commissioning activities.
- Drive value engineering while maintaining reliability, efficiency and resilience.

- 5+ years’ experience managing mechanical construction packages.
- Previous experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities or large-scale industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling and mechanical building services.
- Experience in mechanical installation, testing and commissioning.
- Strong contractor and vendor management experience.
- Understanding of mechanical redundancy, resilience and energy efficiency.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, HSE requirements and construction standards.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and project delivery skills.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline preferred.
