Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre
Salter Grange is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for a major hyperscale data centre project on behalf of a leading international technical contractor.
This is a senior opportunity to take responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package on a large-scale data centre project, working closely with the Project Director, engineering teams, subcontractors, and client to ensure safe, high-quality, and timely delivery.
Mechanical Project Manager Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of the mechanical scope from construction through to commissioning and handover.
- Manage mechanical subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
- Coordinate mechanical works with CSA, electrical, commissioning, and other project disciplines.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage programme, progress, costs, procurement, and project reporting.
- Review technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
- Manage inspections, quality issues, RFIs, and technical queries.
- Work closely with the client, design team, and project leadership.
- Drive performance and ensure project milestones are achieved.

Mechanical Project Manager Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on major construction projects.
- Strong experience within data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large-scale commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and construction delivery.
- Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong programme, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience through installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, high-value project environment.
