Mechanical Project Manager (Water Treatment)
📍 Bournemouth
💰 £550-£575 per day (Outside IR35 if applicable)
⏳ 8-Week Contract
🚨 Immediate Start
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a major water infrastructure project in Bournemouth, supporting the successful completion and handover of a live treatment works scheme. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven water sector professional to step into a key delivery role and drive mechanical installation, commissioning and close-out activities during the final phase of the project.
The Role
Working alongside the Project Director and Construction Manager, you will take ownership of the remaining mechanical works, ensuring safe, efficient and successful project delivery through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all remaining mechanical installation activities.
- Manage testing, commissioning and final handover requirements.
- Lead subcontractors and site teams to achieve programme milestones.
- Review and approve RAMS, ITPs and project documentation.
- Coordinate technical queries and interface management.
- Ensure high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Monitor progress, risks and commercial impacts, reporting to senior management.
- Drive project close-out activities, snagging and client sign-off.

Requirements
- Proven Project Management experience delivering Mechanical or MEICA works within the UK water sector.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment environments.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
- CSCS qualification.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience delivering projects through commissioning, handover and project completion.
