MECHANICAL QA/QC ENGINEER | LONDON
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join a leading engineering services contractor on a major Data Centre project in London.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring mechanical installations are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project standards and client requirements, supporting the project through construction, commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field-based quality inspections and verification of mechanical installations. • Complete line walks, system walkdowns and installation qualification inspections. • Review installations against approved drawings, specifications, P&IDs, method statements and client standards. • Review and manage mechanical test packs and turnover documentation. • Review weld traceability records, weld maps and associated quality documentation. • Witness pressure testing, flushing and cleaning activities. • Support mechanical completion, commissioning and system handover activities. • Identify, record and drive the close-out of defects and non-conformances. • Support the development and implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). • Coordinate quality inspections with construction, commissioning and subcontractor teams. • Attend quality meetings and support client inspections and witness testing.

Requirements:
• Mechanical Engineering Degree, Mechanical Trade Qualification or equivalent industry experience. • Previous experience within mechanical construction, commissioning, QA/QC or a related site-based engineering position. • Strong ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, general arrangement drawings and vendor documentation. • Knowledge of chilled water, cooling water, HVAC and mechanical piping systems. • Experience with mechanical completion, turnover or commissioning activities. • Knowledge of weld traceability and pressure testing. • Previous Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Industrial or Mission Critical project experience is advantageous. • Experience with CXAlloy, BIM360, Dalux, Procore or similar digital quality platforms is desirable. • Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
