Site Manager
This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a good technical background and demonstrable experience in taking the responsibility for overseeing engineering-based sites and installations.
We are looking for an experienced Site Manager/Supervisor from the mechanical engineering, industrial, or fabrication sectors. An engineering trade qualification is essential. The role is working 42 hours per week with some overseas travel required. A full driving licence is also essential.
Due to sustained growth, a significant forward order workload, and a continued commitment to be at the forefront of the industry, our client is now searching for a talented and motivated Site Manager. The successful candidate will have the day-to-day responsibility for the safe, timely, and profitable delivery of a wide variety of sites and installations. This will sometimes include managing site-based teams, and resolving any technical, operational, and commercial issues as required.
The Role
- Oversee the activities of the designated site installations and teams, providing guidance, control, and structure to the decision-making processes.
- Ensure the resources available on site are managed to achieve the least cost option to satisfy project objectives.
- Oversee the installation phase of projects, working closely and liaising with site personnel, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, and other internal departments.
- Ensure sites and installation activities are managed in a manner that provides budgetary control of resources to increase the department's performance.
- Assist with the preparation of RAMS, lift/crane plans, and HSEQ documents, to ensure compliance with current regulations and legislations.
- Assist in site audits, inspections, surveys, pre-site visits, and meetings for installation aspects of all projects on behalf of the company.
- Ensure all installations are planned and executed in accordance with operating policy, whilst maintaining the professional and progressive image of the company wherever possible.
- Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed, and calm manner.
- Help to manage suppliers and sub-contractors to improve safety, performance, and profit.

The Person
- Possessing experience in a similar role from any area of the aforementioned sectors, coupled with a recognised engineering trade qualification.
- Possessing first-hand exposure to the supervision of engineering-based site installations.
- Holding experience of a variety of multi-disciplined engineering techniques.
- Possessing an understanding of all stages of the site installation process, coupled with the ability to support your team as required.
- Able to identify the requirements of assigned sites to produce appropriate delivery plans.
- Able to positively engage with clients, suppliers, contractors, site teams, and colleagues.
- Efficiently manage situations when workload presents conflicting demands on time.
- Monitor, progress, and implement controls to ensure tasks are achieved.
- Communicate facts to stakeholders (internally or externally) in an effective manner.
- Deliver efficient and effective customer service at all times.
- A full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel UK wide and sometimes overseas.
