Role Description

The Mechanical Site Manager will oversee the delivery of mechanical building services on live construction projects within the London Area, United Kingdom, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for managing mechanical installation activities, coordinating subcontractors and site teams, and liaising with project managers, consultants, and clients.

Daily Activities Include:

  • Planning and scheduling works
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications
  • Monitoring progress against program
  • Resolving technical or coordination issues on site

The Mechanical Site Manager will implement and enforce health and safety procedures, carry out site inspections, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. The role also includes reporting on site performance, managing materials and equipment, supporting commissioning activities, and contributing to handover documentation.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing mechanical services on construction sites, ideally within building services or M&E projects.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Proven skills in site coordination, supervision of subcontractors, and day-to-day workforce management.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work in a construction environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project managers, consultants, clients, and site teams.
  • Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with commercial mechanical installations such as pipework, plant rooms, HVAC, and associated systems is highly beneficial.
