Ivegate Ltd are a Mechanical & Electrical contractor based in Leeds, delivering high-quality M&E installations across commercial, residential, education, healthcare and other sectors throughout Yorkshire and the wider UK.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of mechanical works across our projects.
This is a key role within the business, working closely with our Operations and Project Management teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, commercially and to a high standard.
The Role
As Mechanical Site Manager, you will take responsibility for managing mechanical installations on site from first fix through to commissioning and completion.
You will be responsible for coordinating our mechanical workforce, subcontractors and specialist contractors, while working closely with the Principal Contractor and other trades to maintain programme and quality.
The role will suit someone who is organised, technically competent and confident managing both people and projects on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical installations on site.
- Coordinate mechanical labour, subcontractors and specialist contractors.
- Plan and monitor works in line with the project programme.
- Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, construction and other trades.
- Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and project information.
- Monitor progress against programme and report any delays or issues.
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Principal Contractor and client team.
- Manage labour requirements and identify upcoming resource requirements.
- Coordinate deliveries and ensure materials are available when required.
- Monitor installation quality and ensure works comply with drawings, specifications and relevant standards.
- Review and coordinate technical information and raise RFIs where required.
- Assist with testing, commissioning and project handover.
- Ensure site documentation, inspection records and commissioning information are completed.
- Lead by example and promote a positive health, safety and quality culture.

About You
We are looking for someone with a strong mechanical construction background who is comfortable taking ownership of a site and coordinating multiple activities at the same time.

You should have:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Site Manager / Mechanical Supervisor / Mechanical Project Manager within the construction or M&E sector.
- Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical installations.
- Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
- Good understanding of construction programmes and sequencing.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to resolving site issues.
- Ability to work independently while being part of a wider project team.
- A strong understanding of health & safety requirements.
- CSCS/SMSTS or equivalent relevant site management qualifications.
Desirable Experience
Experience in some or all of the following would be advantageous:
- HVAC systems
- LTHW / CHW systems
- Domestic water services
- Above-ground drainage
- Ventilation
- Plant rooms
- BMS / controls
- Testing and commissioning
- First Aid Trained
