Job Opportunity: Mechanical Site Supervisor

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join the Grid & Digital Solutions Department of the Thermal Power & HVDC Division for the delivery of the EGL1 Project, based in Torness, Scotland.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and coordinating day-to-day mechanical construction activities on site.
  • Leading mechanical subcontractors and site teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of works.
  • Monitoring the installation of mechanical equipment, piping systems, steel structures, and associated plant infrastructure.
  • Ensuring all mechanical works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, procedures, and applicable standards.
  • Monitoring construction progress, workforce productivity, and site performance against project milestones.
  • Identifying technical issues, site constraints, and potential delays while supporting their timely resolution.
  • Verifying the availability of materials, tools, equipment, and resources required for site activities.
  • Conducting routine inspections to ensure quality standards are achieved throughout the construction phase.
  • Supporting mechanical testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Coordinating with engineering, construction, quality, and HSE teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Preparing daily and weekly progress reports and maintaining accurate site records.
  • Promoting and enforcing the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance on site.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction projects, with proven experience in supervising mechanical installation works, subcontractors, and site teams within the power generation, transmission, or energy sectors.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction drawings, technical specifications, and construction methodologies.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities in a live construction environment.
  • Familiarity with UK construction and HSE regulations is considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
