Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Hatfield
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join the engineering team at a large commercial building in Hatfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Lead Engineer looking to progress into a supervisory position, or an established Mechanical Supervisor looking for a new challenge.
The role will involve overseeing the day-to-day mechanical maintenance across the building, supporting the engineering team and ensuring all planned and reactive works are completed safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the on-site engineering team
- Oversee mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance
- Carry out hands-on maintenance and fault finding when required
- Ensure PPM schedules and compliance tasks are completed on time
- Maintain mechanical plant including pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, valves, and associated HVAC equipment
- Monitor plant performance and identify faults or potential issues
- Oversee contractors and specialist subcontractors on site
- Complete permits to work, RAMS and relevant health & safety documentation
- Liaise with the client and other stakeholders regarding engineering works
- Support small works, remedial projects, and plant improvements
Requirements
- Recognised Mechanical, Plumbing, or Building Services qualification
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience within commercial buildings
- Previous supervisory, lead engineer, or senior engineer experience
- Good knowledge of HVAC and mechanical plant
- Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance
- Strong health & safety awareness
- Confident managing engineers and contractors
- Good communication and client-facing skills
