The Role
We are supporting the offload of compressor system design and integration activities to a managed service environment, seeking a highly capable Mechanical Systems Integration Engineer to join a complex, high-performance programme.
This role sits at the heart of gas turbine / turbomachinery development, working across integration, validation, and in-service support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver compressor system integration activities across multiple parallel workstreams
- Support gas turbine stress analysis or mechanical systems engineering
- Work closely with cross-functional teams on product system design integration
- Conduct and lead OSOR investigations and root cause analysis (RCI)
- Provide complex technical validation and verification support
- Support SAR (Safety Assessment Report) activities, including fleet health and risk tracking
- Manage sampling closure and DoRA updates
- Produce clear reporting and updates for Technical Leads
- Contribute to additional subsystem and integration activities as required

Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with Teamcenter
- Working knowledge of Siemens NX
- Familiarity with LCE tools, including:
- OSORs (Off-Site Observations & Reports)
- FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System)
- Ability to conduct root cause investigations (Fishbone diagrams, EBRCA)
- Proven expertise in gas turbine mechanics, including:
- Thermofluids or mechanical turbomachinery roles
- Proven experience in systems integration / systems engineering within aerospace or turbomachinery
- Strong understanding of compressor systems / cold-end turbomachinery, including:
- Casings & structures
- Stress, vibration, aero & aeromechanics
- Tip clearance, engine loads & interactions
- Experience across the product lifecycle (design, integration, validation)
- Strong experience in validation & verification (V&V) and ability to challenge requirements
- Familiarity with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- Systems Engineering capability including:
- DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Requirements management processes
- Concept development & selection
- Knowledge of safety processes:
- FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis)
- SARs (Safety Assessment Reports)
- RedTop (or similar risk assessment frameworks)
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
