Mechanical Technician

Are you a hands-on Mechanical Technician who thrives on solving problems, improving reliability, and keeping critical equipment running safely and efficiently?
At enfinium, you'll play a vital role in maintaining one of the UK's leading energy-from-waste facilities, helping turn non-recyclable waste into electricity that powers homes and businesses across the country. What You'll Be Doing
As part of our Maintenance team, you'll be responsible for delivering planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring our plant operates safely, reliably and at peak performance.
You'll be involved in:
- Planning and coordinating daily maintenance activities and supporting major outage planning and execution.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical maintenance on a wide range of plant equipment.
- Supporting investigations into equipment failures, technical issues and safety improvements.
- Assisting with the design, installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant modifications.
- Producing and managing work control packs through our maintenance management system.
- Recording maintenance activities, materials used, equipment history and recommendations for future improvements.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and schematics.
- Providing support during plant outages and emergency situations to help maximise plant availability and performance.

This role operates Monday to Friday with a scheduled on-call rota. Due to the nature of our operations, flexibility is required during planned outages or unplanned events, which may occasionally include evenings, nights or weekends.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical challenges, takes ownership of their work, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability.
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years' experience in mechanical maintenance within power generation, renewable energy, heavy industry, manufacturing, utilities or a similar environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Desirable
- Experience as a Maintenance Technician or Service Engineer working on industrial plant equipment.
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems and work control processes.
- Experience supporting plant shutdowns or major maintenance outages.
