Job Title: Mechanical Technician/Fitter - Inflatables
Salary: up to £32,000 per annum dependent upon experience
Location: Stansted, Essex
About the Role:
Aeropeople have partnered with a global designer and manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices who are now looking to hire a permanent Mechanical Technician/Fitter - Inflatables, to be based at their site in Stansted. The successful candidate would be expected to be on site 5 days per week.

They are a leading global provider of industrial technology solutions serving a diverse set of attractive niche markets, recognised as a global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets. As a global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices they offer specialised services for more than 5,000 components over a variety of aircraft systems with capabilities covering aircraft windings, electrical power, hydraulic components, landing gear and safety equipment's.
This role is working a 39-hour week. Hours of work are:
- Monday to Thursday: 8am - 4.30pm
- Friday: 8am - 4pm
A 9-day fortnight is available to those who want it.
Main Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, test, fault find, and repair various safety equipment for slides, rafts, and their sub-components.
- Reassemble a variety of safety equipment, slides, rafts, and their sub-components in accordance with CMM's / OHM's and OEM packing instructions.

- Basic salary up to £32,000 dependent upon experience

About You:
- Numerate and literate – minimum GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
- OEM training in maintenance and overhaul of safety equipment (highly desirable)
- Experience of repairing and packing aircraft safety equipment (highly desirable).
- Previous experience of working in an engineering/ workshop environment (highly desirable)
- Prior experience of interpreting and following in detail compliance manuals.
- Working within a small team of skilled fitters, reliability, flexibility, and teamwork are key skill requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships
- Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines, and multitask whilst maintaining a high degree of quality, workmanship, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Strong communicator (written and verbal)
- Positive, enthusiastic, confident, and motivated
