Job Description:
As a Mechanical Technician, you will be providing support to the maintenance team on calibration, measurement and machining for the production areas, infrastructure and utilities as required. You will support with both planned and reactive maintenance working with other technicians (Mechanical and Electrical) as well as supporting engineering.
Core duties:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities for the site, and providing feedback and reports for tasks completed
- Ensure that all relevant documentation is maintained correctly
- Carry out all tasks in accordance with SHE policies, with applicable safe system of work in place
- Take part in Continuous Improvement activities
- Participate in Energy reduction campaigns as required

Essential Skills:
- Be a Time Served Apprentice in a Mechanical Discipline via an approved body or organisation
- Have an excellent understanding of engineering drawings
- Have demonstrable experience in the use of measurement and calibration equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), shadowgraphs, Vickers hardness testers, metroscopes, and torque testing equipment
- Highly skilled in operating a range of machine shop equipment, including CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, grinding equipment, and Hydrobore machinery
- Have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of safety systems, risk assessments and permit systems
- Be computer literate
The Maintenance Team:
Maintenance is a highly experienced multi-disciplined team, working on a wide range of mechanical/electrical services, utility and production. Effective communication with all stakeholders at a site level is key to ensuring an efficient operation. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop a key specialism in a niche sector. You will be trained on new tools and techniques in the way you work with a real focus on continuous improvement and reduction of energy consumption.
