About the Role
TEXO Recruitment is supporting our client in the recruitment of a Mechanical Equipment Technician to join their Aberdeen team.
This is a hands-on workshop role involving the inspection, maintenance, fault finding, repair and testing of mechanical, pneumatic and diesel-powered equipment.
You'll work on a wide range of equipment, from hand tools and pumps through to HP/UHP jetting units, compressors and diesel-driven machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, test and repair mechanical and diesel-powered equipment.
- Strip, diagnose and repair equipment including paint pumps, transfer pumps, blast pots, needle guns, mag drills, bristle blasters and grinders.
- Maintain and repair HP/UHP jetting units, air compressors and pumps.
- Carry out routine equipment inspections and report defects.
- Complete job cards, inspection records and test certificates.
- Read equipment manuals and parts lists.
- Carry out testing following repairs and maintenance.
- Support portable appliance testing where trained.
- Maintain good housekeeping and workshop standards.
- Follow all QHSE procedures, Risk Assessments and COSHH requirements.

Requirements
Essential
- SCQF Level 7 Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance or equipment repair role.
- Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
- Experience with pneumatic and diesel-powered equipment.
- Ability to read equipment manuals and parts lists.
- Good attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
Relevant practical experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.

Desirable
- Experience with HP/UHP jetting equipment, compressors and pumps.
- Water Jetting qualification or WJA membership.
- Experience within oil & gas, energy, industrial services or equipment hire.
