Mechanical Technician - Garelochhead

Permanent | Garelochhead, Scotland | Salary DOE

  • Do you have a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship?
  • Do you have experience in mechanical maintenance and fault finding?

What will you be doing?

  • Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
  • Fault finding and repairing mechanical equipment
  • Overhauling and replacing components
  • Fitting and assembling mechanical equipment
  • Completing PPMs, inspections and maintenance records
  • Responding to equipment breakdowns and supporting emergency activities
  • Working within strict Permit to Work, H&S and process safety procedures
  • Undertaking confined space work following specialist training
  • Participating in an on-call rota and occasional short-notice overtime

Where will you be doing it?

You'll be working at a safety-critical fuel storage and distribution facility, helping keep essential mechanical equipment safe, reliable and operational. The role offers a hands-on engineering environment with strong emphasis on process safety and operational reliability.

What will you need?

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification / completed apprenticeship
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, repair and fault finding
  • Industrial or safety-critical experience is desirable
  • Good understanding of PPM and safe working procedures
  • Willingness to undertake specialist training, on-call duties and overtime
