A well-established Building Services contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Working Supervisor to support the delivery of mechanical installation projects across the North East.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased supervisor who enjoys a hands-on role while leading site teams to deliver high-quality projects safely, on time, and within budget.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical installations on site, coordinating labour and materials, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring work is completed to specification.

This is a working supervisor position, meaning you'll be expected to remain actively involved in installation activities while managing day-to-day site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works, including pipework, plant, and associated systems.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with site management, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades.
  • Manage labour allocation, materials, and plant requirements.
  • Monitor progress against programme and ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Carry out quality checks and inspections of completed works.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Mentor apprentices and less experienced operatives.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and maintain high housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with material take-offs and site cost control.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
