Job Role of the Workshop Mechanical Engineer

A fantastic opportunity which is not to be missed by a strong Workshop Mechanical Engineer has come to the forefront. This is a great opportunity for any engineer looking to work within an established manufacturing environment and develop their career both technically and professionally.

The site operates a range of manufacturing processes, including PVC injection moulding and extrusion, alongside associated production machinery, compressed air systems and cooling water systems.

You will be responsible for carrying out mechanical workshop activities, repairs, maintenance and the production of components to support the manufacturing operation. You will be working from technical drawings and specifications, ensuring all work is completed accurately and to the required tolerances.

This is a hands-on role working as part of a small engineering team, where you will be expected to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and safety.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Workshop Mechanical Engineer

  • Mechanical engineering or workshop engineering experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work accurately from technical drawings.
  • Experience producing or repairing components to tight tolerances and specifications.

Desirable Requirements for the Workshop Mechanical Engineer

  • Experience with CNC machining.
  • Experience working with injection moulding or extrusion machinery.
  • Experience within a toolroom or engineering workshop environment.
  • Knowledge of 5S.
  • Experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in the UK.
